Our Beginning

Where We Come From

HelenGrace Homemade Pastries is a newer bakery that opened due to life changing circumstances. The namesake is two-fold. It’s foremost a play on words for the “Hell & Grace” one experiences when life throws you for a loop. 

The name HelenGrace also honors our Grandmothers, Helen Cabral and Grace Hightower, as well as grandmothers everywhere. One of Helen’s qualities was that she would speak with such “honesty and grace”. Grace was such a kind soul with a heart of gold who loved to cook. Both grandmothers are cherished and the daily reminder behind the inspiration of the bakeries namesake and values. 

The bakery has been kneaded, shaped and baked into the business it is today by sheer passion to produce the best quality treats for all of our customers. Stop by and fall in love with our signature delights and tasty treats.

About Us

Hello! We are Scott & Jeny Hightower and we own HelenGrace Homemade Pastries. We believe in the value of homemade, crafted, quality baked goods. Not only do they warm the home, but our products will definitely warm the heart. All of our goods are personally handcrafted, baked and served with a side of love.


We like to keep it simple and emphasize taste with a beautiful presentation. I bake desserts just like my grandmas did.  They are fully leaded, (no unleaded here) with gluten/sugar/fat, make your booty big, love handles pop, mouth sing, full of love and scratch made. I don’t offer diet restricted desserts. 


We’re located at 2240 Park Ave Suite A BEHIND Lash’s Glass. There’s a gate you have to go through to get to us. When we are closed, the gate is closed too and you can not see the bakery. We like to call ourselves “the gated pie community” or “the sweets speakeasy” and some people need a trip advisor to find us. 


For the most part it’s just me (Jeny) in the bakery and I do it all from cleaning lady to CEO.  We don’t have a phone number because I generally can’t answer it. Email, social media and messaging is the way to get a hold of me. I’m very quick to respond to all messages.  If you want to hear my voice during a conversation, you’ll have to come into the bakery. 


I use only quality ingredients, I’m actually kind of snobby about them, and try to source and collaborate with local growers and other small businesses as much as I can. 


The bakery is my happy place and I love what I do. I do my best to keep up with the demand and try to have baked goods during all business hours.  From time to time, especially around the holidays we have voluntold family members that come in and help keep up with demand. 


We mainly specialize in PIES & COOKIES. We also offer sweet breads, cinnamon rolls, Swedish rolls, sticky buns, & bread pudding. Our display case on Thursday, Friday & Saturday is known to  have cakes & cheesecakes too. 

All the pies the family size $33 (10 inch) and couples size $20.00 (8 inch) pies can be ordered for your special occasion or event. We also have cutie pies $8.00 (5 inch) and mini pies $5 (3 inch) that can be ordered, minimum of 6 pies per filling/flavor. Pies that are offered on our weekly menu can be preordered via email at ownerhelengrace@gmail.com. Payment is due at the time of order. Any orders that are not picked up on the arranged day/time will not be held/credited/refunded. 

Cream pies - banana, chocolate, coconut cream, peanut butter, chocolate mint, German chocolate, Orange creamsicle, mud pie, raspberry white chocolate, and lemon. Cream pies can be topped with fresh seasonal berries and are referred to as a USA pie because of the red and blue colors of the berries that are framed with whipped cream. 

Custard & Curds - bourbon pecan, lemon meringue, lemon layer, key lime, pumpkin 

Fruit pies - Caramel apple, strawberry rhubarb, peach, apricot almond, nectarine, cherry (***fresh cherry pies may contain pits or pit fragments***) mixed berry, marion berry and blueberry.  Fruit pies can be topped with a crumble topping or crust. All fruit pies are subject to the availability and season of fruit. Fruit pies are also available in a Take & Bake. 

Savory pies - we stock our freezer with both chicken pot pies and shepherds pies. Quiches are also available and perfect for breakfast or lunch. Come on by to check out availability. 

If you can dream up a flavor whether it’s a pie, sweet bread, quiche or cake, we can probably make it. Just ask us!
